2. Click the VirtualMachines tab to display the list of VMs, as needed.
3. Select the VMs for which to enable quiesce, and click EditSelectedVMs to display the Configure
VirtualMachine dialog box.
4. Click ConfigureVSSSettings to display the ConfigureVSSLogin dialog box.

5. From the QuiesceEnabled drop-down list, select Yes.
6. From the LogTruncationEnabled drop-down list, select Yes, as needed. For more information
about log truncation, see Using Log Truncation for VSS Backups.
7. Populate the following fields if you enabled log truncation:
a. Windowslogin – Enter the user name to access the Windows system on which log truncation or
an automatic install/upgrade is occurring.
b. Password – Enter the password to access the Windows system on which log truncation or an
automatic install/upgrade is occurring.
8. Click TesttheConfigurationon1VM to validate that the VSS configuration is compatible with the
selected VMs.
