Chapter 3 Quantum Scalar 50 Remote Management
Setup
Quantum Scalar 50 User’s Guide 104
Partition #2: Zone 2 must have the media changer (port 1), tape drive
2 (port 2) and host 2 (port 5).
Zoning the Fibre Channel switch as described above will allow the host to
view only the tape drive for it’s specific partition. The media changer is
visible to both partitions and hosts.
Scalar 50 Configurations that do NOT Support Partitioning 3
The following Scalar 50 configurations do NOT support partitioning:
Scalar 50 Libraries Containing SAS Tape Drives - a library containing a
HP LTO-4 Half Height tape drive cannot be partitioned.
Native Parallel SCSI interface - a parallel SCSI library cannot support
partitioning.
iSCSI bridged Parallel SCSI - a parallel library with a TC2201 iSCSI
bridge cannot support partitioning.
Native Fibre Channel without a switch - a Native Fibre Channel library
that does not have a Fibre Channel switch cannot support
partitioning.
Scalar 50 with Level 1 Capacity - A default capacity library with only
four magazine columns available cannot be partitioned. You must
have
FULL capacity to partition the library.
