Quantum Safety Information
System, Safety, and Regulatory Information Guide 8
Observe the following precautions when servicing your system:
Before beginning any service work, locate the main switches or
power disconnection means. The main switch is often not on the front
of the unit.
Locate the power source connection or connections.
Unless otherwise instructed by applicable product documentation,
completely disconnect power from the system before performing a
service action.
Make sure that the unit has cooled down prior to removing its covers
or touching its internal components.
Never put any door guards out of operation other than as instructed
by Quantum.
When servicing a system large enough for someone to switch it on
without seeing that you are working on it, place a yellow sign on the
unit with the following text:

DO NOT SWITCH ON THE SYSTEM!
Warning: Always install rack stabilizers before installing
components in the rack. Without the front and side
stabilizers, the rack might tip over, which could cause
bodily injury.
Warning: Never pull more than one component out of the rack at a
time. Doing so can cause the rack to tip over, which could
cause bodily injury
Warning: The full weight of the rack must rest evenly on the floor
and the rack must be anchored mechanically to ensure
stability in the event of an earthquake.
